Potato starch
Smilax, genus of about 200 species, of the lily family, mostly woody climbing and trailing plants, cosmopolitan in distribution. Commonly called greenbriers or catbriers, many have very prickly stems. The sarsaparilla plant of Europe has prickles on the leaves as well as the stems. It is common among dry shrub areas of southern Europe. The florist’s smilax is a relative of asparagus. Scientific classification: Smilax make up the genus Smilax of the family Liliaceae. The European sarsaparilla is classified as Smilax aspera. The florist’s smilax is classified as Myrsiphyllum asparagoides.
